Our shop is located 32 Whitemans Road, Silverstream, Upper Hutt 5019.

What are your hours?

We are open Tuesday through to Saturday.

08.00-16.00 - Tuesday - Friday

09.00- 12.00 - Saturdays

Do you sell cakes and cupcakes at your store?

Yes we do, as well as other sweet treats like ginger slice, caramel oaty slice, brownies, cheese scones.

Cupcakes and our cabinet selection change daily/weekly so if you love something let us know and we will stock it for you.

You can also keep up to date with us and what we have available in store on our facebook and instagram page.

How do I place an order?

Our "buy now" items can all be ordered through our online shop (www.cakehaven.co.nz) or custom products can be ordered in store, by phone 0273409919 or email.(either through the website contact page or admin@cakehaven.co.nz.

Do you offer delivery?

Yes we offer deliver Wellington wide for $20.00

Can i pick up my order?

Of course we would love to see you. When ordering let us know the earliest  time you would like to collect.

If you’re collecting your cake, you’ll need to have a flat surface in your car to place it on. The boot or the passenger footwell are best. Do not leave your cake on the seat of your car.

Please don’t leave your cake in the car or in a warm room, it will melt.

Do you take a deposit?

Yes we do. To confirm an order we take a non refundable 50% deposit.

We will not treat your order as accepted until your deposit has been received.

 Short notice cakes that are placed within seven days of the collection date   must be paid in full on ordering.

How do I pay for an order?

Online orders via our online shop are paid for on the spot via credit card 

For all other orders including all custom and wedding cakes we offer secure credit/debit card, eftpos/ (in the shop) and bank transfers (we will send you the details once the order is confirmed)

When can i expect to hear back from you?

We do our best to respond to all emails and orders within 24 hours  However, Thursday - Saturday we are busy in the kitchen and may not always be able to reply as promptly as we’d like to. We thank you for your patience and if you haven’t heard from us within 5 days please ring us........

How long will a cake last and how should i store it?

Our cakes and cupcakes are completely natural with no preservatives in them, so they are always going to be freshest and yummiest on the day you receive them

Our cakes however are known to stay fresh and enjoyable for up to 3-5 days. It is best to store your cake in a cool room (not the fridge as this can dry out the cake) and ALWAYS eat cake at room temperature. Our cakes are ‘butter cakes’ so they soften up at room temperature

If your cake incorporates any form of fondant, it is best left in it’s box in a cool, dark area with plenty of air flow, not in the fridge.

Cupcakes tend to last 2-3 days. Best storage is an airtight container.

How far in advance should I book you for our wedding?

Ideally as much notice as possible!! The earlier we get your date locked in the more time we have to design and create your perfect cake .We only take a limited number per week so the sooner the better. 

For birthday or occasion cakes, we recommend 2-4 weeks. Weddings and large special occasions we recommend 4-12 months in advance. Dependent on availability we may be able to take orders after this notice period, but this is not guaranteed. Please call the store  or email to check our availability, and note that orders are only confirmed once a deposit is made. celebration cakes 

 

What do I need to know about my wedding cake for on the day delivery?

The most important thing to think about for on the day of is where your cake will be placed, the time of delivery and the time of serving. Please choose a place where the cake will be kept out of direct sunlight and hopefully the coolest spot in the room. Its great to consider that many times, you and your guests won’t be entering the reception venue until hours after the ceremony so its best to arrange for the cake to be delivered later on, just before everyone will see it OR that there is chiller space for the cake to be stored until then and brought out by your catering team. Ideally, you would like your cake to be out for viewing 2-4 hours maximum before it is being cut. 

Do you offer shipping?

We do offer nation wide shipping for our cookies, slices, macarons and brownies.

What is the difference between coffee size and dessert size for our wedding cake?

*Coffee Size: 1 inch x 1 inch x 4 inches (2.5cm x 2.5cm x 10cm)
*Dessert Size: 1 inch x 2 inches x 4 inches (2.5cm x 5cm x 10cm)

If you are having other desserts along with your cake, we recommend coffee size portions. If you’d like for the cake to be your main dessert of if you’d like to have some leftovers go for the dessert size portions!

Do you cater for special diet and allergies.

Yes we do !! Including dairy free, vegan and gluten free. Free free to contact us to see what we can offer.

Please note: We do use gluten, dairy and nuts in our kitchen at all times. While we do our very best to keep these ingredients separate there is always a risk that any of our products may contain traces of these allergens.

Can I make changes to my cake?

If you need to change the date or details of your order please get in touch as soon as you can. We will try our best to accommodate these changes at no additional charges; provided sufficient notice is given and that we can offer a cake for the re-arranged occasion date .If your order is bespoke/custom, we may have sourced or prepared special ingredients or decorations in advance, in these cases charges may apply.

Can i make cancel my cake?

If you need to cancel your order, we'll be as accommodating as we can, but please be aware that we may well have had to turn down other orders to take yours.
Please note that all deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE
If you cancel you order between one and three days we do not refund your money.
All our products are freshly baked and hand-decorated to order, so please be aware that your order may not look exactly like the pictures on our website. If there is a part of your order that is crucial and must not vary, please let us know.
